New Design University (NDU) in St. Pölten
The New Design University in St. Pölten is one of the main partners of the Future Platform ReGenerativa. We are therefore particularly pleased to invite, together with the NDU, to an IMPULSE Event on a key topic in the field of regeneration: “Shaping a Regenerative Economy: Vision or Illusion?”
The keynote address on September 30 will be delivered by Sebastian Fittko, a thought leader and outstanding expert on the regenerative market economy. Sebastian Fittko is the founder and first chairman of the “Initiative Regenerative Marktwirtschaft.” Founded in Germany, this initiative is known for its visionary approaches; see https://regenerativemarktwirtschaft.org/#vertiefen
“A regenerative market economy views economic, ecological, and social action not as opposing forces, but as an integrated system. It builds upon the principles of the social market economy and further develops them: Value creation should not only use resources efficiently, but also actively renew them—in nature, in society, and in the economy.”
“Co-environment instead of environment: The economy is embedded in living networks of markets, natural resources, and social structures. A regenerative market economy ensures that economic success and social progress go hand in hand.”
“Reindustrialization instead of deindustrialization: This transformation does not mean dismantling, but rather a targeted shift toward resilient, circular production.”
“Re-growth instead of degrowth: Growth remains a driver of prosperity—but not merely as an expansion in volume, but as a qualitative development of individuals, society, and nature. It is about growth that promotes quality of life, social equity, and ecological regeneration—rather than being measured solely by gross domestic product.”
As part of this initiative, eight theses on a regenerative market economy were also formulated; see the essay by Sebastian Fittko, https://blog.regenerativemarktwirtschaft.org/p/die-8-thesen-einer-regenerativen
The keynote address will be followed by a panel discussion (in a fishbowl format).
Within the framework of the IMPULSE event, participants in the discussion will include NDU Rector Christoph H. Wecht, Clemens Kerschbaum, Dean of Studies for Innovation & Management at NDU, and Christoph Thun-Hohenstein, Artistic Director of ReGenerativa.
The event will be held in German.
Admission to the IMPULSE event on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the NDU in St. Pölten is free.
First come, first served.
